Westwind Public School
During the 2018-2019 school year, I was placed at Westwind Public School in a quiet Stittsville suburb.
My associate teacher taught English to French Immersion (ETFI) to grade 1 and 2 students.
My experiences during this practicum gave me a passion for teaching mathematics through problem-solving and the use of vertical non-permanent surfaces in primary classrooms.

In language arts, students learn about important topics through read alouds.
Students created their own cereal boxes as part of a media unit on advertising and target audiences.
Students practiced following and writing procedures to make popsicle stick snow flakes.

For Halloween, the teachers dressed up as dalmations while our principal put on her best Cruella De Vil costume.
Students in the Eco Club work on posters for Earch Hour, which the school will be observing on March 29th.
